A tale of 2 Amazons continues in 2023. US-based sellers below are tortured for less than nothing and others abuse the platform.
There have been many of these in recent months in the ASGTG FB compliance group. I am posting this on behalf of a legit US-based seller unable to compete. I would like to add large US-based sellers (below) continue to be suspended for literally NOTHING.
Over the past few months, I’ve noticed a significant rise in the presence of Chinese sellers on the platform. They seem to have overtaken many marketplaces, launching products with impressive ratings and reviews within just one day. However, upon closer examination, it becomes clear that these reviews have nothing to do with the products sold. They have merged different listings to create an illusion of success. So they have thousands of reviews and 5-star ratings, but the reviews are NOT about what they are selling.
Despite multiple complaints about this clear violation of TOS- Amazon turns a blind eye and allows these sellers to dominate the market. This puts genuine sellers at a disadvantage and undermines fair competition.
Some Chinese sellers claim that their products are made in the USA, which is not true. Again, Amazon does not care. Additionally, they use fake reviews, which is super clear since we all know — no one gets 2 or 3 or 4 reviews in a DAY all five stars!
Even when Amazon does take action and catches these sellers, they resurface the NEXT day with the same listing, same pictures, and same reviews, but under a different brand name. It’s a frustrating game of cat and mouse that seems never-ending.
I have personally reached out to Amazon, providing them with evidence to support my concerns. However, their response has been disappointing, as they don’t acknowledge any violation in these listings.
